“Adopting a new pup into your family is stressful! Jane and Rockview Bernedoodles know that and go  out of their way to reduce or eliminate the biggest fears or concerns you may have. I was so impressed by the completeness and transparency of the genetic testing she does to be sure every pup is 100% healthy. Secondly, it was amazing to be able to follow along with pretty much daily updates on the progess of these pups.  And let me tell you – from the classical music at nap time to the stimulation and desensitizing activities and the amount of space given over to playtime both inside the house and outside – there is no doubt these pups get the very best start in life.  So it shouldn’t be offensive that you get interviewed too – about your lifestyle, what your are looking for in your fur-baby, and ensuring you understand the financial obligations that can come with caring for a Bernedoodle. But what really impresses me is the care and attention she puts into facilitating that lifelong match between her pup and their forever family – she really is a puppy matchmaker! Jane was there for us even 6 months later providing advice when I failed dog training and needed remedial help to get Ringo back on track. “I had just lost my sweet German Shepherd of 11 years, and was scrolling over advertisements for puppies. I happened upon Jane’s post for Bernedoodles and never heard much about this new breed.  I reached out to her for more information.  It was meant to be.  Jane has so much passion and invests so much of herself to ensure only the best selection and breeding is achieved. I have Winston, a gentle and loving furnished puppy from Avery and Finn’s first litter. It was love at first sight and we cannot imagine our lives without him.  He embodies more of Avery’s features and personality. We had so much joy and love that when we heard of a second litter, we approached Jane for a second puppy to be Winston’s gal pal. Abigail (Abby) joined our family and we couldn’t be happier! She is loving and just as bouncy as Winston.  She is furnished and embodies more of Finn’s features and personality. Our veterinarian from day 1 was impressed with our puppies for their physical attributes expressing that our puppies are the best that they have seen.   is It is my hope that all breeders would aspire to be like Jane, such passion and knowledge surely does make the world a better place for these puppies. “Our lives are forever blessed because of Henley.  Henley is a Standard Bernadoodle who was born to Avery & Finn Dec. 28, 2021.  Our journey to finding Henley was one of those life experiences where the unexpected leads to something so wonderful it is beyond anything you could have imagined.  Two years before meeting Jane, Keith and their wonderful dogs at Rockyview Bernadoodles, we started the decision making process about adding a fur baby to our family.  We had lost our dog (who was a rescue) three years prior and were finally in a place where the grief had healed and we were ready for another dog.  I am someone who does not make impulsive decisions (no matter how cute the puppy pics are☺️) so we did a lot of research on various breeds and landed on Bernadoodles because they are known to be clever, gentle, low shedding, goofy, loyal to their humans and love to give and get affection.  I thought we had settled on a breeder, had completed the forms, gave our deposit and we were added to a two-year waiting list. Then randomly, about 8months down the road, my husband sends me a picture from a post of someone else selling Bernadoodles. The pup was handsome (but this is not Henley, so stay with me), and had this old-soul expression on his little face.  We set up a phone call and learned that this pup was Ozzy who was recently spoken for, and had an hour long conversation with Jane.  I had met a kindred spirit. Jane was open, honest, intelligent, real and had so much passion for her dogs and the breeding process and it was evident she read everything available to further her knowledge and continue to learn.  She expressed how she had worked with a mentor to learn how to breed dogs safely and ethically.  She is a member of BadAss Breeders so she follows a proven method of early interventions for pups that focuses on guiding emotional responses, meeting the puppies innate needs in order, building confidence through intentional and purposeful curriculum and handling that aligns to their sensitive developmental benchmarks.  Jane was so informative about genetics, early socialization, the health of the mothers, studs and of course the puppies, and never tired of my endless questions.  After shamelessly following all her posts on social media of the next litter, it was finally time to go and meet the puppies (11 healthy puppies, 5 females and 6 males). We had expressed to Jane that we had hopes of training this pup to be a service animal who would be able to go into hospitals, schools, group homes etc, to be a an emotional support for patients and members of the community.  Jane directed us to consider the “Onyx” pup from this litter (she has a theme for all her litters, this one was gemstones, and this one pup was given a black colour and known as Onyx). Her evaluation and assessments had shown that this pup had a calm demeanor who didn’t seem to get to ruffled by his siblings when they were all playing and sought out affection/attention from humans.  He was very comfortable with being handled by all of us as a family.  If I am honest, I had my mind set on another puppy (markings/colouring was my main attraction, based off pics on social media), I will never let this be my motivation again because that day I learned about the importance of temperament.  I remember going around and making an effort to interact and consider each puppy (11 was a lot☺️).  I had sort of loss track of who was who at one point during our 2hr visit and picked up the puppy that had walked over and crawled in my lap.  I picked up this puppy, held it in front of my face and looked into his eyes and asked him if he felt he was meant to join our family (I know, super cheesy, but this was a big decision).  That pup looked right into my soul, he didn’t break eye contact and something just clicked.  I let him settle back into my lap, he went to sleep and I asked Jane, “which one is this one again”?  It was Onyx, who she had suggested initially and is now known as “Sir Handsome Henley” on his fancy days, and just Henley on his casual days. Henley is now 15mos old as I write this.  He came home at 8weeks old crate trained, as Jane started this process within the two weeks prior to him coming home to us.  He is very intelligent so was easy to train, meaning that we did a lot of research on training but he picked up what we were teaching him quickly.  He is well on his way to becoming a certified service animal, he seems to know to be calm and gentle around younger children and elderly.  He is quite famous in our home town as he goes into all the stores and knows which cashiers have treats at the counter for him and makes a beeline for them and sits pretty for his treats.  We are a family who enjoys camping and hiking but also falling all onto the couch after a long day and watching a movie together.  Henley is game for either of these activities, he loves to go for camping adventures (is still figuring out the whole swimming thing), and will hike the trails with us for hours, but is just as happy to be lazy and snuggle up in the family room for some belly rubs and movie watching.  If you made it this far in my long-winded recommendation then you are probably highly motivated to have a fur-baby join your life.  Jane and Keith at Rockyview Bernadoodles will ensure your future pup has the absolute best start and will help to pair you and your family with the perfect fur-baby.  My life has forever changed for the better. Henley still looks into my soul and lets me know everything will be okay by putting a reassuring paw in my lap. Our home and hearts are so full of joy thanks to Sir Handsome Henley, his big heart and hilarious shenanigans.”
